A transição democrática brasileira em imagens

Abstract

The recent Brazilian political crisis puts in line the hypothesis of the inconclusive character last democratic transition of the country (1980s). This article addresses the documentary The Brazilian Connection: a struggle for democracy, by Helena Solberg, from 1982, to search the main tensions of the period in question, recorded in images and in the testimonies of this emblematic film of the political transition in the country. It’s based on the relevance of images in contemporary times, inserting the text in the studies of history and audiovisual.
