dc.description.abstractThis article analyzes the merits of the listing of Art Déco in Goiânia, capital of the state of Goiás. Even today, twenty years after the listing of some public buildings and the central pioneer urban layout, a large part of the population does not recognize that space as part of Goiás identity. Few people know the historical and constructive process of the municipality or do not share the architectural characteristics of Art Déco, highlighting the question: what is theimportance of the listing of the Art Déco in Goiânia? The structure of this article will cover research that discusses the heritage of world cities, the process of “market culturalism” and the need for popular participation in the formulation and implementation of cultural public policies. The results indicate that the listing of the abovementioned buildings was done by the public administration and that they do not match the urban images established in the imaginary of the Goianienses.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoEste artigo busca analisar o mérito do tombamento do Art Déco em Goiânia, capital do estado de Goiás. Ainda hoje, vinte anos após o processo de tombamento de alguns edifícios públicos e do traçado urbano pioneiro central, boa parte da população não reconhece aquele espaço como parte da identidade goianiense. Poucos, inclusive, conhecem o processo histórico e construtivo do município ou não perfilham as características arquitetônicas do Art Déco, salientando, portando, o questionamento: qual a importância do tombamento do Art Déco em Goiânia? A estrutura deste artigo irá abarcar pesquisas que discorrem sobre a patrimonialização das cidades mundiais, o processo do “culturalismo de mercado” e a necessidade da participação popular na formulação e na implementação de políticas públicas culturais. Os resultados indicam que o tombamento das edificações supracitadas fora feito de ofício pela administração pública e que não condizem com as imagens urbanas firmadas no imaginário dos goianienses.pt_BR
