Análise de indexação de imagem: um estudo na literatura brasileira de Biblioteconomia e Ciência da Informação

Abstract

This study analyzes the scientific production on image indexing available in the Information Science Database (BRAPCI), aiming to identify the theoretical and methodological approaches adopted in studies on the subject. The research also seeks to map the main authors, institutions, journals, and years of publication related to discussions on image indexing. Predefined search terms were used, resulting in the retrieval of 116 documents, of which 39 were selected after applying analysis criteria, including 18 scientific articles and 21 papers presented at academic events. The year 2020 had the highest number of publications. The results indicate that image indexing has been a recurring topic of interest in the field of Information Science, with notable emphasis on events such as the National Research Meeting in Information Science (ENANCIB). It is concluded that the topic is relevant to Library Science, especially regarding the organization and retrieval of images in digital environments, demonstrating potential for future developments and significant contributions to the field.
