(Re)Concectar: arquitetura e tecnologia no centro de Goiânia

Abstract

This study is a final undergraduate thesis, of a theoretical–practical nature, and proposes the revitalization of the center of Goiânia, having the creation of a technology hub as one of its strategic elements. The proposal is based on an understanding of the central role of urban cores in the construction of more integrated and innovative cities. In view of the underuse of central areas, the work intervenes in a set of blocks in the city center, articulating technology, knowledge, and urban memory. To define the proposal, a literature review on the subject was carried out, as well as a survey of the Central Sector, mapping existing uses, the condition of buildings, the identification of urban voids and underused structures, in addition to an analysis of circulation routes and the selection of case studies used as references for the research. The project proposes urban and architectural interventions focused on occupying vacant buildings and creating environments conducive to innovation and entrepreneurship. The technology hub is conceived as a new layer within the centrality of Goiânia’s pioneering core, capable of activating the territory and generating new economic and social flows. The theoretical framework is based on concepts such as urban centrality, the use of underutilized buildings, and the role of innovation hubs as vectors for spatial transformation. Porto Digital, in Recife, is adopted as the main design reference, inspiring a proposal that respects the historical and urban context of Goiânia while promoting a contemporary and sustainable use for its historic center.
