Microsatellites polymorphism of major histocompatibility complex and serological profile in local Brazilian cattle Curraleiro Pé-Duro

Resumo

Microsatellites designed for regions of bovine lymphocyte antigen (BoLA) genes are used to understand the variability of immune responsiveness between individuals and populations against pathogens. The objective of this study is to characterize polymorphisms in 13 microsatellites present in genes of immune response and associate to Brucella abortus, Leptospira sp., Neospora caninum, leukosis, rhinotracheitis and bovine viral diarrhoea infections in the Brazilian local cattle breed Curraleiro Pé-Duro. Genotypes of 812 animals of both sex and various ages, using microsatellite markers were analyzed by Fisher test and linear regression model to associate infections with alleles of BoLA gene and natural resistanceassociated macrophage protein 1 (SLC11A1) gene. All microsatellites exhibited moderate to high levels of polymorphism. The expected heterozygosity (He) ranged from 0.2803 to 0.8742 and the observed heterozygosity (Ho) ranged from 0.4103 to 0.8317. Allele RM185*88 were present in all leukosis positive, RM185*90 in all neosporosis positive and leukosis negative, LA54*155 in all IBR positive and 312*295 in neosporosis negative animals. The result showed that 415*457, 1778*243, 312*292, 1687*223 and other alleles are likely to play an important role in the host immune response. No significance to environmental factors was observed on regression model.
