Resumo
This work aims to discuss some elaborations raised
by a research entitled “Work, Art, and Autonomy”, coordinated
by me, and connected to the Center for Studies and Research in
Psychology, Education, and Culture (Neppec), from the College
of Education of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). We ask
whether there is a possibility of the film being a cultural prod-
uct not adapted to the reproduction of the capitalist society; if
the film can be formed by art elements, i.e., if it can be a cultural
product that forms subjects to nonconformity. This article estab-
lishes dialogues with Theodor Adorno and Herbert Marcuse, with
issues arising from the research process and from conversations
with authors, educators, and filmmakers, which resulted in chal-
lenges to be faced
