Análise de falhas da proteção de distância associadas ao efeito infeed em linhas de transmissão de energia elétrica

Abstract

The infeed/outfeed effect occurs when there are branches in the transmission line (TL) to connect loads and/or sources close to its main route. These diversions are economical solutions that enable integration into the grid without the need to section the transmission line with a substation. However, this solution complicates the settings of protection systems, particularly the distance protection function. Since a traditional distance relay compares sampled quantities from only one terminal of the TL, situations may arise where current injection at intermediate points leads to under-reach or over-reach of the distance protection relays. This study aims to evaluate the impact of the infeed/outfeed effect on the performance of the distance protection function in transmission lines through simulations using the ATP/ATPDraw software.
