Os limites da racionalidade nos discursos políticos em rede social durante as eleições de 2018 no Brasil

Abstract

This study evaluates the theoretical contributions of three strands related to the studies of rhetoric and the argumentation to understand the political discussion developed in social networks during the Brazilian presidential election in 2018: Classical Rhetoric, the New Rhetoric, the Rhetoric of Incomprehension and the Apology of Polemic. The rationality foreseen by the formal logic, the justification of the convictions and opinions and the role of the controversy in the democracy are elements analyzed in an interaction on Facebook taken as a corpus. The analysis aimed to describe the nature of the arguments expressed in this verbal interaction. Ideology and religious interpreta tion emerge as unsurpassed foundations of dissent.
