Resumo
Present in the municipalities of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, São João da Aliança, Colinas do Sul, Cavalcante, Monte Alegre, Teresina de Goiás, Nova Roma, Forte, Formosa, with mentions in the south of Tocantins and northwest of Minas Gerais, Curraleira is a traditional performance of northeast of Goiás, of quilombola origin and with black protagonism, practiced in festivities and celebrations of popular Catholicism. Based on field experience carried out based on the theoretical-methodological concepts of the lived field and poetnography in the cities of Alto Paraíso de Goiás, Colinas do Sul and the quilombola community Engenho II, municipality of Cavalcante, we discuss in this article Curraleira as an Afro-Goiana, which constitutes the crossroads of the hinterland of northeastern Goiás and the strong Central African influence, with the aim of presenting the performance of Curraleira and highlighting the elements that make it up in attention to the black and country identifications of Goiás.
