Goiás para além das chapadas e planaltos: diversidade e beleza na Geomorfologia do Brasil central

Resumo

This study discusses the geomorphological diversity of Goiás through five landscapes of high scenic, scientific, and educational value: the Araguaia River in Aruanã, Serra Dourada, Chapada dos Veadeiros, the non-traditional karst of Paraúna, and the traditional karst system of São Domingos/Serra Geral de Goiás. The text shows that the state, often reduced to the image of plateaus and agricultural areas, is characterised by great morphological and morphogenetic complexity. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, it articulates geology, geomorphology, hydrography, human uses, and environmental impacts, highlighting fluvial, mountain, plateau, and karst processes. It concludes that these landscapes have high geomorphological and geoheritage value, demanding further research, geoconservation, and scientific outreach. The text argues for their recognition in territorial management and geoscientific education in Central Brazil.
