Resumo

This article investigates the territorialities of medicinal plant knowledge in Goiânia, analyzing its spatial reconfiguration from the domestic realm to the street. The ethnographic research focused on home gardens (quintais) and street commerce in Downtown Goiânia, employing participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and visual ethnography. Interlocutors included traditional healers (raizeiras) and street vendors. Results reveal a spectrum of resistance and adaptation practices. The home gardens asserts itself as a micro-territory of memory and refuge, whereas the street emerges as a space of multi-territorialities where subject identities are shaped by the logic of the informal economy and knowledge fragmentation. The study concludes that such knowledge does not disappear but is reinvented through a struggle for space, actively producing new territorialities in the contemporary city. Keywords: traditional practices; herbal remedies; Downtown Goiânia; backyards; urban ethnography
