Resumo

This Undergraduate Course Completion Work sought to evaluate the scientific production of Physical Education and works that dialogue with it present in the journals inserted in the PubMed database, for the period from January 2000 to April 2022, which has marijuana as part of its object of study. To this end, a systematic bibliographic survey of the articles published on the platform was carried out, followed by a descriptive and critical analysis of the results. Based on the theoretical contributions of Norbert Elias, Michel Foucault and Pierre Bourdieu and with the help of a biopsychosocial literature on marijuana, it was shown that the articles found in PubMed on the subject in question start from a predominantly biomedical bias, thus reproducing, a fragmented, reduced and limited scientific perspective on a phenomenon that is much more complex, as is the case of the human relationship with marijuana. Therefore, confirming the hypothesis raised in this work, it is understood that most of the analyzed studies, in some way or another, end up corroborating the stigmatization of the substance and its users and contribute to the production and strengthening of discourses favorable to continuity of prohibitive policies related to this plant.
