A produtividade da metonímia na fala goiana: uma abordagem sociocognitiva

Abstract

This article has meant to examine the metonymy phenomenon and your productivity in real speech data of contemporary Portuguese spoken in Goiás. Therefore, this study was like base the theoretical perspective of researchs involving metonymy, as a phenomenon present in use and as cognitive mechanism, as proposed Lakoff and Johnson (2002) Goossens (2002), Ferrari (2014), Silva (2012) among others. In view of this, with base in theoretical subsidy of Cognitive Linguistics, the reading and analysis of the uses contemplated the grammatical levels, semantic and pragmatic-discursive of the constructions. The corpus of analysis comprised the data collected by members of the Fala Goiana Project, which this study is associated. It was found, therefore, on the data of speech goiana a high productivity of metonymy phenomenon. Among the investigated metonymies highlighted the type of part for the whole, especially the metonymies are constitute of parts of the body and of the event for the place. Moreover, it was observed in the uses, the recurrence of methaftonymy, i. e., of the relationship between metonymy and metaphor, are juxtaposed to suit the speaker’s communication needs.
