As políticas ambientais brasileiras e os dilemas do governo Bolsonaro

Abstract

This is a literature search on environmental protection in Brazil, focusing on the analysis of the constitutional legal protection established in the 1988 Constitution, and in the laws 9985/2000 that established the SNUC, in the law 11516/2007 that established the ICMBio, and in-law 12651/2012 that established the Forest Code, in contrast, with the administrative and legislative political decisions of the Bolsonaro government with regard to environmental protection. The main object of the work is to assess the impacts of changes in Brazilian environmental policy, on the results of environmental degradation in the period under analysis. The results show that the political discourse and environmental policies implemented by the Bolsonaro government have negatively affected the work of the environmental inspection and management bodies, which has damaged Brazil’s image in the eyes of foreign investors.
