El artículo analiza la producción del conocimiento en el contexto de las
políticas de expansión de la educación superior en Brasil, sobretodo a partir
de la segunda mitad de la década de 1990, considerando sus interfaces
con el campo científico, en general, toda vez que el pos grado y la investi-
gación en Brasil se estructuran por áreas específicas o por grandes áreas
de conocimiento. Tres aspectos fundamentales se examinan: la expansión
y la privatización de la graduación y el crecimiento y el pragmatismo del
pos grado, la producción del conocimiento académico-científico, marcado
igualmente por la expansión, por el pragmatismo y por la inversión, y la
naturaleza y el carácter del conocimiento.
This work analyzes the production of knowledge in the context of policies of expansion of Brazilian Higher Education, especially from the second half of the nineties onwards, taking into account its interfaces with the scientific field in general. The graduate studies and research in Brazil are organized in specific or large areas of knowledge. Three basic aspects are examined, namely i) the expansion and privatization of graduate studies and the growth and pragmatism of postgraduate studies; ii) the academic- scientific production of knowledge, marked by the expansion, pragmatism and investment; and iii) the nature and character of knowledge.
