Efeito de sistemas de cultivo no manejo de populações de Pratylenchus spp. na cultura da cana-de-açúcar

Resumo

This study had the purpose to evaluate the effects of different crop systems on the populations of Pratylenchus spp. in an area of sugarcane crop renovation. The experiment was carried out in the field of Jalles Machado S/ A Industry, in Goianésia (GO) Brazil, which was a long term sugarcane cultivated area highly infested by nematodes. The experimental design was completely randomized, with five treatments and ten replications. Treatments were characterized as follow: 1) sugarcane-fallow-sugarcane (control); 2) sugarcane-fallow-sugarcane + aldicarb 12 kg of commercial product / ha; 3) sugarcane-fallow-sugarcane + filter cake; 4) sugarcane-soybeansugarcane; 5) sugarcane-crotalaria-sugarcane. Nematode inicial population was determined after the first sugarcane crop by sampling soil from all the plots. Addicionally, nematode population was determined in the soil and roots of soybean and crotalaria. After the second sugarcane planting, nematode populations were determined at two, four, six and eight months after planting. It was also evaluated sugarcane yield, length and diameter of colm and quality of juice. The system sugarcane-crotalaria-sugarcane was the treatment with the lowest population of Pratylenchus spp. The filter cake used in the system sugarcane-fallow-sugarcane + filter cake increased the nematode population at two and four months after planting. The system sugarcane-fallow- sugarcane + aldicarb reduced Pratylenchus spp. population only at four months after planting. Yield, length and diameter of the colm, and quality of sugarcane juice were not affected by the treatments.
