A construção do horror e os gêneros narrativos no Jogo de RPG Call of Cthulhu

Resumo

This article proposes to discuss the horror genre in RPG games through the investigation of the construction of space and the symbolic and narrative aspects that provoke the immersion of the participants and identification with the characters and stories. The proposal is based on a bibliographic and ethnographic research with participant observation method, whose object of analysis are the interactions and narrative constructions of a RPG game. The experience, ocurred in a doctoral research group, once a week, during the second semester of 2016, provided an opportunity to investigate how gender is constructed by the interaction of players and the creation of narratives, as well as the observation Of the virtual space construction through the mediation of the systems chosen, especially Call of Cthulhu, inspired in Lovecraft, written by Howard Phillips.
