Resumo
It proposes, from a theoretical, qualitative and exploratory study,
a discussion about curriculum theories and their theoretical and methodological
contributions, as well as their application, with the purpose of contributing to stu dents’ understanding of social, cultural and scientific contexts surrounding them.
In addition, it is intended to demonstrate how the information literacy processes
can help in the best application of the curriculum. It is concluded that the challeng es are great, but the school and its professionals should always raise discussions
such as these during their pedagogical weeks, scientific meetings and continuing
education courses, either in postgraduate or in advanced. These reflections make
a difference and can contribute to broadening the learning possibilities of our
students. A learning that goes beyond the walls of the classroom.
