Correção cirúrgica de fimose adquirida em equinos

Resumo

Six adult horses, carriers of acquired phimosis on the anule prepucial and with urine detention, had a ring-shaped segment of the preputial internai laminae removed by surgical procedures. The cranial and caudal projections of the preputial internai laminae were brought together with simple, separated stitches using catgut. Edema was observed on the preputial internai laminae until the tenth day after surgery. Sixty days after surgery the animais were successfully tested with mares, in heat, showing penile exposition and copulating ability. The surgical method used to repair equine acquired phimosis made it possible to mantain the glandis covered by the shaft, resulting in no local complications and recovering the animal ability to copulate.
