O poder simbólico dos objetos museais: como eles impactam nas negativas de repatriação do Museu Britânico?

Abstract

The repatriation of objects, especially those located in European museums, especially the British Museum, is a contemporary social problem. This study aims to investigate whether the symbolic power of these artifacts impacts their non-return by the British Museum. To this end, a documentary analysis will be carried out in the bibliographic research that will serve as a basis for the creation of a case study with the objects that had their repatriation requests most denied, which are: the Elgin Marbles, better known as the Parthenon Friezes, the Rosetta Stone, and the Benin Bronzes. Finally, the conclusion of this work will present the possible ways.
