Qualidade de mudas de melão rendilhado tratadas com tiamina em pré semeadura e suplementação nutricional

Resumo

The quality of the seedlings directly impacts vegetative and reproductive capacity of the horticultural species, justifying the elaboration of techniques that will contribute to the production of high quality seedlings. The objective of this work was to evaluate melon seedlings under levels of nutritional supplementation with nutrient solution, previously submitted or not to soaking of seeds in thiamine solution. The experimental design was completely randomized, with six replicates and an experimental unit consisting of a single plant with a 2 x 3 factorial. The concentration of the solution was represented by three levels (control, 50 and 100%), and the thiamine (100 mg L-1) factor, by two levels (with and without). The relative contents of a, b and total chlorophylls, plant height, stem diameter, total leaf area and average leaf area, dry mass of shoots and roots and the Dickson quality index were evaluated. The application of the nutrient solution in 100% concentration increased the values for the studied variables, differing statistically from the control treatment and the application of nutrient solution in 50% of the concentration, except for the relative levels of b chlorophyll and root dry mass. Thus, the use of 100% nutrient solution, significantly increases the levels of photosynthetic pigments, biometric characteristics and quality of seedlings, and can be used for the production of muskmelon seedlings. Thiamine, at the concentration used in the present study, has no influence on the variables analyzed.
