A construção da memória histórica e coletiva de Goiânia através da fotografia

Abstract

This thesis is about recalling and reviving facts of the city of Goiânia through photography, Portraying the first years of the period of construction of the Capital (1930 - 1950). The research is guided by the analysis of the photographs of the collection of the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS / GO), permeating by historical context, political, cultural, urban and religious. This study was necessary to understand the importance of safeguarding the photographic records for the preservation of the memory of a community, also highlighting the great informational contribution transmitted through the photographic image. The objective of this work is to identify which history of Goiânia is being described through photography, emphasizing the importance of the photographic image in the process of contextualization of events and as a way of recalling the previous history. It presents the concepts of memory, information, museum and photography. For the purpose of conclusion, we have identified that the photographs selected for analysis do not contemplate in general the collective and historical memory of the Goiano citizenship, the construction is based on an official memory that does not correspond to the memory of all.
