Resumo
Richard Louv (2016) defined Nature-Deficit Disorder as a problem manifested by the loss of contact between children and young people and local ecosystems, resulting in limited knowledge of native fauna and low engagement in conservation awareness. This study proposes the two-dimensional creation of hybrid creatures that combine characteristics of Brazilian insects, reptiles, and mollusks, aiming to highlight anatomical details and stimulate imagination. As a foundation for future three-dimensional models, the main objective is to contribute to zoological knowledge by assisting in species identification and reinforcing their ecological importance, with particular emphasis on surface textures and three-dimensional form. In this context, the concept of fantastical hybridization employs handcrafted techniques, especially cardboard and papier-mâché. This choice is justified by the accessibility, sustainability, and creative potential of these materials, enabling the integration of science and creativity while fostering a playful and interdisciplinary approach to biodiversity. The design methodology combines contextual research, quantitative and qualitative data collection, ideation, and refinement of hybrid models. As a future development, the project is expected to expand the visual and taxonomic recognition of species through easily reproducible educational materials and their implementation in both formal and informal learning environments, promoting environmental awareness and community engagement.
