Resumo
It is believed that several factors hinder tomato presents its productive potential in the Brazilian savanna, and one of them is, the low root system depth of crops. This brings serious consequences for crop, it increases the frequency of irrigation causing leaves wetness frequent, favoring incidence of diseases. Therefore, the aim of this study was to calculate irrigation frequencies processing tomato crop in function of different roots depths of the adult plant, and discuss the impact of leaves wetness frequencies in production system. It was considered a center pivot with industrial tomato crop (125days) in Goiania-GO, planted in field on May/01 in medium texture soil. The irrigation management simulation by Embrapa Method. The treatments correspond to simulate different roots depths in phases of fructification and maturation (70% of cycle): Treatment 1 (T1):0.25; T2:0.30; T3:0.35; T4:0.40; T5:0.45; e T6: 0.50 m. The production cost of industrial tomato crop in Goiás State in 2015 was used for the economic analysis. The increase in the effective roots depth is enable of decrease the number of irrigation events during the phases 3 and 4, and to reduce by 27% the number of fungicide sprayings in the crop cycle, reducing until 5.67% the production cost.
