Resumo

The aim isto describethe bilingual education of the deaf, through a vision fromthe family and the education. Has qualitative approach of a descriptive-analytical. The sample had 3 participants: one mother of a deaf, one deaf with a degree in teacher training and speech therapy, and one hearing teacher, researcher in the area of Sign Language (SL). Data analysisindicates three categories: 1) Bilingual Education –empowerment of the deaf; 2) Health – reverberations of speech in the educational process; 3) Family – interface in bilingual education. It can be noticed that bilingual education of the deaf in Barcelona is undergoing a moment of resignification, of search for the valuation of SL, however, they do not discard the benefits of Cochlear Implants, and they are aware that “Cochlear Implants are not miracles”. Concluded there is the emergence in a bilingual education of a new socioculturalprofile for the deaf person: implanted bilingual deaf.
