Resumo
This article analyzes issues related to the tourism, territory and indigenous life of the Karajá
people, located in the municipality of Aruanã, in the State of Goiás, Brazil. Aruanã is part of the Vale do
Araguaia Tourist Region, a complex set of capital dynamics and different economic interests. Thus, when
considering the appropriations of the territories, especially with regard to tourist activities, it is necessary to
rethink the different uses and consequences of how these practices are instituted, especially when it comes to
indigenous territories. The researches pointed out that the interethnic contact and the insertion of the Karajá in
the market demands of the tourism without adequate planning, culminates in socio-cultural re-significances.
This research is qualitative and ethnographic and was developed from a bibliographical survey, work and
field book, participant observation, conversation wheel, narrative records and images.
