Resumo
The article aims to understand the (re) organization of the territory and labor in diamonds mines in Coromandel, located in Mesoregion Triangulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba -Minas Gerais. The methodology is based on procedures for qualitative research, such as field research, interviews, participant observation and field diary. Even, the theoretical and methodological look that guidesthe seizure of the territory and of workers is based on the Geography of Labor. From the 1990s, new territorialities began to draw the production of territories in Coromandel municipality, with impacts on the historic mining activity, strengthening environmental legislation, mining and labor, prohibition of illegal mining and generating unemployment, performance of private companies, control of subsoil by transnational companies, mechanization, contractual relations wage, specialization and fragmentation of work. These facts also produced developments in the political action of the miners against the formation of associations, cooperatives and labor union. Therefore, these elements represent territorial consequences and in the labor that are investigated inthis article.
