Caracterização das ocupações em áreas de preservação permanente às margens do Ribeirão Anicuns e do Córrego Botafogo na cidade de Goiânia

Resumo

The areas of permanent preservation (APP) are of unquestionable relevance in the protection of water resources, avoiding siltation, erosion, contamination and a series of possible environmental complications. However, the irregular occupations in APPs have become common on the urbanization process of Brazilian cities. The absence of a urban policy housing and access and a land speculation has led to the commitment of areas with environmental restrictions. This reality is experienced in Goiânia. Although planned, the urban growth of the municipality was not accompanied by a policy of land use control. The result, among others, is the occupation of the environmental areas. Before this, this article examines the two large springs APPs representativeness to the municipality, the Ribeirão Anicuns and Botáfogo Creek, which drain much of the territory of the capital and where a significant portion of the population, introducing normative conflicts. The methodology adopted was based on the analysis of land use by means of satellite images of the years 2006, 2012 and 2016, aiming to identify the changes over the course of a decade. The findings point to a lack of management of public authorities on the issue of irregular occupations and the growth of the same along the APPs.
