Resumo

Domestic violence is a daily and structural violation of women’s human rights, turning their home, a place that should be a safe space, into a situation of physical, psychological, sexual and financial abuse. Many women need to leave their homes to escape the violence enacted by their partners, but are unable due to their financial and social situations. Focusing on women in this cenario, this work aims to propose an architectural project of a Shelter House, in Goiânia - GO to shelter women who are victims of domestic violence, offering housing, psychosocial support and activities guiding these women towards mental and financial independence. The metodology consists in a bibliographical research based on gender and patriarchy theories; statistical data analysis, both local and national; studies of legislation and guidelines like Lei Maria da Penha and Diretrizes Nacionais para o Abrigamento de Mulheres em Situação de Risco; and case studies of similar projects. At the end, the architetonical project of the Casa Avida is presented, which is sa shelter organized in different blocks built with a reinforced concrete structure and clay bricks, focusing on the full recovery of the sheltered, through designing decisions prioritizing physical and mental comfort, privacy and contact with nature.
