Resumo
This essay intends to analyse the impossibility of the infinity’s knowledge
and, consequently, the impossibility of God’s knowledge in the hobbesian philosophy.
Instead of Descartes, that claims to proof the existence of God through his effects (in
the so-called “ontologic proof ”), Hobbes doesn’t admit any proof of God’s existence and
refuses to give it any political or epistemological function. From this, in the hobbesian
philosophy, God will be taken as matter of belief, instead of science.
