Item Narragonia 3.0: ficção científica e tecnognose em experimentações narrativas gráficas(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2011-04-28) CHAVES, Gabriel Lyra; FRANCO, Edgar Silveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8415486629956081This work, done for the area of Visual Poetics and Creation Processes, set out in search of two distinct objectives: a theoretical reflection that embraces the language of comics, science fiction and tecnognose, noting the relationship of these two last elements in comic works of the early 1980s; and create a graphic narrative that reflects what was learned in theoretical deliberation. To do so, I ve examined the elements that constitute the language of comics, watching how they relate to each other in order to convey a message and generate subjective reactions in readers in the context of the story. I ve investigated how this narrative genre is structured, and at what points it approximates or take distances from other narrative genres. I ve also looked for relationships between science fiction and the definition of techgnosis, a concept which ponders about the manifestation of transcendental yearnings among supposedly secular aspects of contemporary culture. Done this theoretical approach, I will analyze two comics: Akira, from Katsuhiro Otomo and Ronin, from Frank Miller, observing the articulation of the concepts brought up to date within these comics. And finally, I will deliberate on how I had built my own fictional universe, and how this speaks to the theoretical elements studied throughout this thesis, also reflecting on the formal aspects of the creation of imagery to Narragonia 3.0, a science fiction narrative structure based on the language of comics, but designed to exploit the multiple narrative possibilities brought about by social networks, sites and other digital media over the Internet.Item Bioarte Brasileira e Vida Artificial: Investigação Teórica e Prática Artística(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2011-05-25) NOMURA, Luciana Hidemi Santana; FRANCO, Edgar Silveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8415486629956081This paper focuses on Brazilian production of one the currents of technology and arte, called bioart, with emphasis on one of its aspects called "artificial life art" - inspired by the dynamic processes of biological systems - which promote the emergency of digital artificial systems, dynamic and self-sustaining, named "artificial life". This reserach presentes featured works of Brazilian production of this emerging artistic category and analyses the poetic propositions of the artistis with emphasis on verifying the forms of interactivity of these works. Simultaneously with the exploraty investigation of the art in Brazil, it has been developed a project on "bioart" in which its goal is to explore some interactive possibilities of a system based on evolutionary algorithm and artificial life.Item HQtrônicas e realidade aumentada (RA): novas potencialidades narrativas(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2012-06-04) PRADO, Jordana Inácio de Almeida; FRANCO, Edgar Silveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8415486629956081This master's research presented to the Pós-Graduation Program in Cultura Visual of FAV/UFG, in the research line Poéticas Visuais e Processos de Criação, is intended to study HQtrônicas an intermedia narrative - and the technology of Augmented Reality (AR), trying to show the narratives possibilities opened by this technology when it works with the language of HQtrônicas. Besides the investigations necessary for the theoretical and conceptual production, an experimental art work was developed, a practical exercise that incorporates the AR as a new possibility for the emerging language of HQtrônicas, showing other alternatives that were not experimented before in the HQtrônica´s structure.
