Item A influência de atividades agrícolas sobre a vegetação remanescente de cerrado em assentamentos rurais no estado de Goiás(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2015-03-20) Gosch, Marcelo Scolari; Medina, Gabriel da Silva; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4866331905231029; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4498594723433539; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; Mendonça, Marcelo Rodrigues; Barreira, SybelelleThis research has focused on the land use dynamic in the settlement land projects located in the state of Goiás with the predominance of intensive agriculture (commodities), family agriculture and extensive livestock. The main objective is to analyze the influence and the impacts of different agriculture activities developed regionally over the remaining native vegetation in the Settlement Projects. Our hypothesis is that different forms of occupation and economic exploitation in the Cerrado have different impacts on the legal reserve vegetation found in the rural settlements. Thus we attempted to understand the environmental condition of the rural settlements in its micro region, analyze the evolution of deforestation within the settlements and their surroundings, trying to understand the relationship of the developed agricultural activities with the rural settlements patterns. Our methodology adopted the use of GIS techniques, satellite image classification (Landsat-TM 5 and RapidEye imageries), besides the use of geo-referenced data and visiting fieldwork at the settlement samples. The results indicated that, although the rural settlements have a higher rate of deforestation (between 1990 – 2010 period), the percentage cleared inside them was less than their surroundings. This result shows that regions with more intensive land use (with agriculture or pastures) tend to suffer with a higher pressure of the deforestation, both regionally and within the settlements. Therefore, the settlements tend to follow the regional dynamics of deforestation or conservation actions of the area where they are installed, bring the same agricultural activities of their surroundings. We conclude that the settlements from rural reform agrarian in the Cerrado biome are not isolated lands from the local reality, while their small farmers settled can not be characterized as the main actors of the land use changes in Goiás state.Item Expansão da silvicultura de eucalipto no bioma cerrado: uma análise sob a perspectiva dos fatores físicos e socioeconômicos(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2013-07-31) Lopes, Cassiomar Rodrigue; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4498594723433539; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; Miziara, Fausto; Barreira, SybelleThis work presents and discusses the results about the expansion of the cultivation of eucalyptus (Eucalyptus spp) in the Cerrado biome, including the analysis of related variables in this process. The motivation for this research came from the recognition, using data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistic, of the expansion of this crop, mainly in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, where it was verified in the last three decades changes in the landscape with the replacement of cattle raising and agriculture. At the same time, there was a regression in eucalyptus plantations in Bahia’s west. It can be argued that this expansion and regression of areas are connected to the presence of forest-based industries in the region that needs this raw material. Therefore, this study sought to identify areas where they are being held eucalyptus plantations in the Cerrado with 2006 census data. These locations were chosen based on these information, and the mapping of the highlighted counties according to the data from the agricultural census. Then it was analyzed the variables physical, political economical and social policies in the producing regions. Based on these features were pointed the prone areas for the expansion of eucalyptus plantation in the Cerrado. In general, the results show that there are a predominance of some characteristics in the choice of areas to be cultivated, as a predominant deep sandly quartzly soils, relief in the class of 0 º to 8 º of declivity and proximity to highways and rivers around 5 km and 3 km, respectively. Another important result of this research, obtained by the intersection of the areas of eucalyptus to the Cerrado and the map of land use (PROBIO), indicates that the expansion of this crop is occurring over areas with remnant Cerrado vegetation.Item O uso de geotecnologias na vistoria e avaliação de imóveis rurais pelo INCRA(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2020-03-12) Pinto, Carlos Eduardo Marques; Jesus, Andrelisa Santos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9279471449282134; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4498594723433539; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; Souza, Cleonice Borges de; Santos, Alex Mota dosThe rural properties destined for agrarian reform purposes in Brazil, whatever the form of obtaining, must be inspected and evaluated by an INCRA technical, generating an Inspection and Evaluation Report. In this report, the price and the technical, economic and environmental feasibility of the property are determined for the creation of an agrarian reform settlement. The process of appraising a property can be time-consuming and expensive due to the long waiting list, agency infrastructure and logistical access to agricultural properties. In this context, the aim of this study was to evaluate the use of new and free geotechnologies to identify parameters that can assist the inspection and evaluation of rural properties, reducing costs and time, with increased reliability and accuracy. For that, satellite images (e.g., LANDSAT, ALOS and SENTINEL platforms) and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) were used to generate thematic maps for the Rio Vermelho Hydrographic Basin region, in Goiás state, with attention to three rural settlement projects. The results indicate that the identification of key characteristics of the studied areas is enhanced by the use of geotechnologies, with a significant reduction in costs and time of evaluation, including the phase of inspection and evaluation of rural properties covered in this analysis.Item Dinâmica de ocupação no bioma cerrado: caracterização dos desmatamentos e análise das frentes de expansão(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2012-10-09) Rocha, Joana Carolina Silva; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4498594723433539; Ferreira, Manuel Eduardo; Gomes, Roberto Arnaldo Trancoso; Miziara, FaustoThis research aims to depict the human occupation process in the Cerrado biome throughout a semi-automatic land use characterization method in newly deforested areas, in two classes: "pasture" and "agriculture". To perform this, we used remote sensing techniques, including the analysis of the product MOD13Q1/EVI (Enhanced Vegetation Index) from MODIS dataset and alerts of deforestation obtained by SIAD - Cerrado. The use of GIS techniques, combined with theoretical models of occupation in the Cerrado region, allowed the identification of areas of agricultural frontiers. Based on this classification of deforestation events, occurred in the period 2004/2005 and 2006/2007, the method shows that 80% of deforestation in Cerrado are intended for expansion of grazing areas, while the remaining 20% are destined for agriculture. In relation to the area of deforestation, those events directed for pastures present an average of 1.5 km², while for agriculture the average area is 2.5 km², indicating purposes and different forms of intervention in the field. In the first period (2004/2005), the total area of the polygons occupied by agriculture totaled 1,263 km², while the sequent period (2006/2007) summed 971 km². About the deforestation destined for grazing, the total area was 3,316 km² in the period 2004/2005, while in the following period (2006/2007) it reached 2,918 km². Regarding the resulting maps, it was possible to understand the current dynamics of the agricultural frontier in the biome. This border zone represents the western of Bahia state, through the southcentral region of Piauí state, reaching the extreme south of Maranhão state in 2006/2007 period. Thus, our results indicate a clear tendency of expansion of the agricultural frontier into northern Cerrado biome. As investments are made in training, new skills and competencies are developed, resulting in individual and social advantages. The development of activities related to agribusiness, like the other activities of the economy, requires a qualified workforce to make possible the numerous movements linked to the segment. Besides each academic formation's technical and recurrent issues, new requirements are constantly presented to the professionals. Within the scope of agribusiness, the issue of environmental sustainability is positioned as a subject to be widely discussed and learned by students at undergraduate and graduate levels of Agricultural Sciences. The objective of this study was to understand the relevance given to environmental sustainability in the academic and professional training of students from undergraduate and graduate courses in Agricultural Sciences at UFG and UFJ. As for the methodology, this study can be classified as applied research, of descriptive and exploratory nature, built through a quali-quantitative approach with the help of bibliographic research, documentary research, and field research, with the application of questionnaires. The research results pointed out that agribusiness development in Brazil has significantly impacted the Brazilian biomes, especially the advance of pastures over the Cerrado biome. The labor market related to agribusiness employs a significant portion of the employed personnel in the country (about 20% between 2016 and 2020). The teaching of Agricultural Sciences is concentrated in the Midwest region. Analyzing the undergraduate and graduate courses of UFG and UFJ in Agricultural Sciences, we found that these courses are conducted and guided by technical-scientific issues, i.e., they are inclined to maintain production and productivity standards, as postulated by the Human Capital theory. In this sense, environmental sustainability does not play a leading role in the teaching, research, and extension practices related to Agricultural Sciences in the studied universities, despite the urgency of the theme for society in maintaining activities related to agribusiness. Thus, it was found that the institutions' undergraduate and graduate courses presented a limited contribution to environmental sustainability.
