Item O programa brasileiro de biodiesel e a produção de mamona na agricultura familiar em duas regiões do semiárido nordestino(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2018-08-31) Borba, Márcia Maria de; Ferreira, Marcelo Dias Paes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3436824386339415; Ferreira, Marcelo Dias Paes; Medina, Gabriel da Silva; Araújo, Paulo Henrique CirinoWe present an analysis of the income variation of castor bean producers in the Microregion of Irecê -BA and Meso-region Sertões Cearenses, respectively, in the period from 2000 to 2015. We aimed to evaluate several indicators within the PNPB associated to socioeconomic attributes (price, yield and area) and its contribution to gross income variation of castor bean producers in these regions; and to explain the dynamics of competition for agricultural area in the PNPB context, related to the castor bean crops in the refions that took part of the research. We used shift-share as an empirical strategy, assessing the role of Price, Income and Area to measure the effects of the gross income variations. We also identified whether the Price Effect have caused impacts on food security, by means of the scale and substitution effects. The results showed that the Yield Effect was the major responsible for the variation of the gross income of the castor bean producers in the Irecê-BA. As for the Meso-region Sertões Cearenses - CE, negative Income effect and positive Area were the must important to gross income sources. Results also pointed out that food crops were replaced by nonfood crops in Irecê, but this was not the case in the Sertões Cearenses.Item Consumo do lácteo queijo cabacinha de Santa Rita do Araguaia em Goiânia: uma análise da disposição a pagar(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2023-02-24) Nogueira, Jordana Cristhina Ribeiro Gomes; Cruz, Fabiana Thomé da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1043014066439621; Ferreira, Marcelo Dias Paes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3436824386339415; Ferreira , Marcelo Dias Paes; Wander, Alcido Elenor; Silva Neto, Waldemiro Alcântara daBrazilian farming has shown a certain degree of performance in recent years, boosting production and exports. Within this scenario, large-scale agriculture stands out. Mostly, family farming has been developed in ecological systems through communities based on solidarity economy and cooperatives. An example is the production of artisanal cheeses, such as the cabacinha cheese from Santa Rita do Araguaia (GO). Cabacinha cheese from Santa Rita do Araguaia is a typical cheese from municipalities located on the border between the states of Goiás and Mato Grosso. The highlight of this product prompts the following problem question: "What are the constraints on the consumer's choice of artisanal dairy cabacinha cheese from Santa Rita do Araguaia and what is the willingness of consumers in Goiânia to pay for this product?" Considering this research question, the general objective of this dissertation is to analyze the willingness to pay, as well as its constraints, of the Goianiense consumer for the dairy cabacinha cheese from Santa Rita do Araguaia. The specific objectives are: to identify the profile of consumers in Goiânia of cabacinha cheese from Santa Rita do Araguaia; understand the consumer's purchase decision process; analyze the valuation potential of this product. The hypothesis is that consumers are willing to pay a higher price for cabacinha cheese from Santa Rita do Araguaia (GO), in relation to other cheeses, as it is an artisanal and traditional product, which highlights its historical and cultural value. This is quantitative research in the field research style, which adopts a literature review and exploratory, followed by the Random Utility and Estimation Model, with the application of closed questionnaires. As the main considerations of the research, it is possible to say that the willingness of consumers from Goianiense to pay for artisanal cabacinha cheese from Santa Rita do Araguaia (GO) is estimated to be high since a DaP of R$60.86/500g remained. In addition, among some constraints on the part of the consumer, it is worth mentioning that the choice to purchase this dairy product is based on age, place of purchase of the product and place of origin of the consumer. Although this result is heterogeneous, when considering the place of sale and the geographic origin of the consumer.Item Análise da eficiência das unidades locais da Emater em Goiás(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2020-02-20) Ramos, Érica Basílio Tavares; Oliveira, Guilherme Resende; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4435590881986017; Ferreira, Marcelo Dias Paes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3436824386339415; Teixeira, Sônia Milagres; Daniel, Lindomar Pegorini; Ferreira, Marcelo Dias PaesThis study aimed to analyze the technical efficiency of Emater municipal units in the State of Goiás, Brazil. The methodological approach consists of a two-stage procedure. The first stage consisted of a Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). In the second stage, we used Tobit regression and Stochastic Frontier Analysis (SFA) to evaluate the sources of efficiency. The results of the first stage show that the units of Emater in Goiás presented efficiency heterogeneity. We also found that average scale efficiency was 81.67%, which means that issues related to scale reduce efficiency VRS about 18.33% in relation to CRS. From the sample of 178 local units, only 15 units are efficient for the Variable Scale Return model. In the second stage, variables such as distance from the capital (Goiânia), Municipal support, Cattle herd, Proportion of employees with higher and technical level, among others, have statistical significance to explain the efficiency of Emater's municipal units in Goiás. The results can help to improve public policies, since it has been identified which municipal units are inefficient and some sources of inefficiency.Item Retorno e risco de culturas temporárias para a agricultura familiar no Distrito Federal(Universidade Federal de Goiás, 2021-02-26) Santos, Mac Gregory Jácome dos; Cunha Junior, Luis Carlos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3474242164762840; Ferreira, Marcelo Dias Paes; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3436824386339415; Cunha, Cleyzer Adrian da; Pontes, Raquel Pereira; Ferreira, Marcelo Dias PaesThe risk of agricultural activity is a relevant indicator for decision-making, especially for family farming. The present work sought to evaluate the sources of production and market risk for the following temporary crops: garlic, sweet potatoes, irrigated beans, dry beans, harvest corn, offseason corn, soybeans and sorghum through data simulations (productive cost, yield and price) to better understand which of the temporary crops is viable for family farmers in the Federal District. The analysis model was based on the Monte Carlo method, which allows the analysis, using data from Emater-DF (Production cost), CONAB (for average monthly prices) and SIDRA/IBGE (agricultural yield) to obtain gross margin (GM) and benefit/cost (B/C). A total of 5000 iterations were performed, obtaining the standard deviation, coefficient of variance, average, maximum and minimum indicators for each culture. The results indicate that family farmers who are risk averse should opt for temporary crops such as garlic, sweet potatoes and soybeans, which presented a lower risk level and presented a higher expected return.
