Resumo
This study analyzed the trajectory of Continuing Health Education (CHE) within the School of Public Health of the State of Goiás (ESAP/GO), between 2019 and 2022. This is an exploratory, cross-sectional, and observational study, developed through document analysis and the application of an electronic questionnaire (Google Forms) sent to participants. The results showed the accomplishment of 62 training activities during the period, covering different areas of the Unified Health System (SUS), but with irregularity in their offering during the COVID-19 pandemic. The adoption of distance learning enabled the continuity of actions but revealed regional inequalities regarding access to technologies, mainly in peripheral municipalities. It was also found that the main challenges perceived by respondents are related to communication and organization in the workplace. Respondents responsible for management had the opportunity to participate in the actions; however, participation challenges were mainly associated with the timing of activities. The perception of respondents regarding the organizational, pedagogical, and logistical aspects of CHE actions was largely satisfactory. On the other hand, the Central region of Goiás stood out for its greater participation, reaffirming its importance as a hub for the dissemination of CHE practices. It is concluded that, despite the advances and resilience of ESAP/GO in the face of the COVID-19 health crisis, structural and regional challenges persist, limiting the effectiveness of CHE policy in the state, which requires strengthening the articulation between education, service, and management to ensure that the training process is continuous, participatory, and effectively aligned with local needs
