Resumo
Pedro Ludovico Teixeira (1891-1979) was one of the most significant
characters of Goiás history in the twentieth century. He served as head of
the state executive, either as Interventor or Governor, for nineteen years,
fifteen of them continuously, in addition to their role as Senator. It was also
the founder and builder of Goiânia, Goiás the new capital, and its greatest
political legacy. This work aims to propose a mythical construction process
of Pedro Ludovico Teixeira. Thus, we assume that it is a myth, enshrined
in the collective memory and history, perpetuated through the streets,
monuments, museum, bearing his name or were erected in his honor. Our
hypothesis is that this process was built by a discursive web prepared by
Peter himself Ludovico throughout his life and which served to guide its
image projected on the history and memory.
