A representação do personagem revolucionário no cinema sobre ditadura militar: uma análise dos filmes O Bom Burguês (1985), Cabra Cega (2005), O Pastor e o Guerrilheiro (2023)

Abstract

Through film analysis, this work seeks to study the representation of the revolutionary figure in Brazilian cinema when in regards to films about the civil-military dictatorship of 1964. In this research, it is made a map of the biggest possible number of cinematographic works that speak on this theme since the beginning of the regime 60 years ago. Films in which the revolutionary character is the protagonist or one of the protagonists of the narrative are analyzed in more depth, with the support of bibliography, among those found, the following were chosen: O Bom Burguês (1983). Cabra Cega (2005) and O Pastor e o Guerrilheiro (2023). The core of the research lies in identifying modulating characteristics of the Hero archetype in these representations, like the characteristics of intellectuality, sacrifice and similarities with the herald archetype. By so, using these to observe the different trends and changes in Brazilian cinematographic productions over the years, due to the country's economic and socio-political circumstances, and how they directly influence the representations of both the dictatorship as an event, and historical figures such as the revolutionaries.
