Do trauma à trama: COVID-19 e o testemunho de profissionais de saúde que estiveram na linha de frente da pandemia

Abstract

This work investigates the narrativization of the trauma of the COVID-19 pandemic based on the testimonies of healthcare professionals who worked on the front lines. It employs a psychoanalytic theoretical framework, particularly drawing on the contributions of Freud and Lacan, understanding trauma as an experience of excess that escapes symbolization and produces ruptures in subjective temporality. In conjunction with authors such as Seligmann-Silva, Walter Benjamin, and Paul Ricoeur, the research addresses testimony as an ethical, political, and clinical practice that enables the construction of meaning in the face of the unrepresentable. Methodologically, collective workshops, narrative interviews, and written testimonies were used, analyzed using Ricoeur's narrative theory (mimesis I, II, and III). Data analysis revealed that the construction of a narrative can enable processes of psychic elaboration, while simultaneously inscribing individual experience within the social bond, highlighting the collective dimension of trauma. This work considers testimony as a possibility for subjective reconstruction and the preservation of memory in contexts of collective catastrophes, such as the pandemic.
