dc.description.abstractThe present theoretical research, aimed to investigate the relationship between romantic love and the patriarchy in capitalist society based on the theoretical framework of marxist feminism. We understand that patriarchy today is an integral part of capitalist society and not an autonomous system of rules and mechanisms that reproduce themselves. Patriarchy has its current roots in private property, in the sexual division of labor and in the consequent structural relationship of the home with the reproduction of capital. The family is an institution that has been transformed throughout the history of the development of production and social reproduction. With the consolidation of capitalism, the monogamous family emerges, which is characterized by its isolation and domesticity. It expresses the apparent antagonism between the spheres of production and social reproduction is constituted by the triangle: father, mother and children. The roles between the sexes are well defined: the father is the head and provider of the family and the woman, the wife and the dedicated mother. Romantic love is one of the ideologies that reinforces this family. It emerged in Europe at the end of the 19th century, with the consolidation of bourgeois society and the appearance of the possibility of an individual life independent of community life. The love relationship becomes exalted as a synonym for personal fulfillment and happiness. Romantic love propagates the ideas of love at first sight and sacrificial love. Regarding love, women are understood as more loving, emotional and responsible for promoting love and care in the home. We understand that romantic love fulfills the function of rectifying and legitimizing patriarchy and capitalism by reinforcing fixed and stereotyped roles for women who confine them to the sphere of private life and social reproduction, an important sphere for the maintenance of the capitalist mode of production and patriarchy.eng

dc.description.resumoA presente pesquisa teórica, pretendeu investigar a relação entre o amor romântico e o patriarcado na sociedade capitalista a partir do referencial do feminismo marxista. Compreendemos que o patriarcado é parte integrante da sociedade capitalista e não um sistema autônomo de regras e mecanismos que se reproduzem sozinhos. O patriarcado tem suas raízes atuais na propriedade privada, na divisão sexual do trabalho e na consequente relação estrutural do lar com a reprodução do capital. A família é uma instituição que se transformou ao longo da história do desenvolvimento da produção e da reprodução social. Com a consolidação do capitalismo surge a família monogâmica, que é caracterizada pelo seu isolamento e domesticidade. Ela expressa o aparente antagonismo entre as esferas da produção e da reprodução social e é constituída pelo triângulo: pai, mãe e filhos. O papeis entre os sexos são bem definidos: o pai é o chefe e provedor da família e a mulher, a esposa e mãe dedicada. O amor romântico é uma das ideologias que reforça esta família. Surge na Europa no final do século XIX, com a consolidação da sociedade burguesa e o aparecimento da possibilidade de uma vida individual independente da vida comunitária. A relação amorosa passa a ser exaltado como sinônimo de realização pessoal e felicidade. O amor romântico propaga as ideias do amor à primeira vista e do amor sacrificial. Em relação ao amor, as mulheres são compreendidas como mais amorosas, emocionais e responsáveis pela promoção do amor e do cuidado no lar. Compreendemos que o amor romântico cumpre a função de retificar e legitimar o patriarcado e o capitalismo ao reforçar papeis fixos e estereotipados às mulheres que as confinam ao âmbito da vida privada e da reprodução social, esfera importante para a manutenção do modo de produção capitalista e do patriarcado.pt_BR
