A influência da especialização produtiva exportadora na diversificação econômica de municípios goianos

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of export productive specialization on economic diversification and the accumulation of productive capabilities across municipalities in the state of Goiás between 2013 and 2023, a timeframe justified by data availability. The research is grounded in the theory of Economic Complexity and the identification of Revealed Comparative Advantages. It utilizes the Location Quotient (LQ)—based on the wage bill from the Annual Social Information System (RAIS)—as a proxy for local productive vocations, alongside export revenue specialization evaluated through the same LQ methodology. Methodologically, the Method of Reflections was applied to calculate the Regional Economic Complexity Index (RECI). The results reveal that Goiânia and Anápolis are consolidated as the centers of greatest complexity, featuring specialization in high-technology intensive sectors. Furthermore, the geospatial analysis indicates the existence of capacity spillovers around the state capital, the Federal District, and the agro-industrial hub of Rio Verde, with these spillovers spreading along the main transportation routes connecting the most complex municipalities.
