Resumo
This research is linked to the research line Fundamentals of Educational Processes (Line V) of
the Graduate Program in Education, Faculty of Education, Federal University of Goiás
(PPGE/FE/UFG) and has as its object of study the Institutional Program of Initiation
Scholarships. Teaching (Pibid) and the relationship theory and practice in initial teacher
education. Its objective is to investigate the relationship theory and practice in initial teacher
education in Pibid subprojects developed at the State University of Goiás (UEG) Quirinópolis,
in the period 2014-2018. The research follows two paths: the proposal through the documents
related to the program and the understanding of the subjects involved: teaching initiation
scholarship holders, area coordinators and supervising teachers who participated in the UIB
Pibid Quirinópolis, Public Notice n.o 061/2013. The bibliographical study is based on the
contributions of Vázquez, Adorno, Saviani, Gatti, Scheibe, Freitas, Oliveira, Santos, Miranda
among others and also in the documentary analysis. The analysis of the normative acts on the
program reveals the preponderance of the practice focused on the technical and
methodological domain of theoretical and practical knowledge - specific and pedagogical
knowledge -, for the mere application in the classroom as well as the need to ensure the
integration of knowledge. built in the exercise of the profession as advocated by Nóvoa and
Zeichner. The data obtained from the investigated subjects reveal that the emphasis is on the
importance of living the practice developed at the Basic Education school, which suggests that
the actions developed prioritize the contact with the practical exercise of teaching. The study
also reveals that the actions developed in the program have contributed to the recognition of
the teaching profession and that the activities and dimensions of the initiation to teaching that
characterize the training process of Pibid are the following: planning of practical activities,
theoretical studies, studies on the teaching, evaluation and exchange of experiences and,
finally, the scientific production. Regarding the articulation theory and practice in the activities
of initiation to teaching the research reveals that there is a concern to promote such
articulation within the subprojects investigated.
