DES-fragmentação: a experimentação em dança no processo de criação da cena Humani

Abstract

This master's thesis is the result of a reflection on dance inspired by the creative process and production of the solo performance "Humani", which premiered in 2019 in New York City and subsequently toured in three different cities in Brazil (Belo Horizonte, Brasília and Goiânia). In light of that, the creative process is approached in terms of motivations, methods, eventualities, and choices that affect the artistic product while also seeks to comprehend the layers of subjectivity and experimentation in dance. The notion of experimental dance is introduced considering the artist's journey. It is a somatic perspective of body, dance and exploration of dance improvisation. Anchored primarily in dance experience and utilizing practice-led research methodology and somatic-performative approach, the outcome of this artistic-academic research is organized into "fragments" aiming to blur the boundaries between dancing and writing.
