Resumo
The Sarare region has been the setting of territorial disputes for sixty years,
in response to this the Territorios Campesinos Agroalimentarios (TECAM) were
created as an instrument for the recognition of farmers ways of life that have
historically been invisible by the Colombian state and other subjects in the territory.
In this research, using qualitative methods, the stories of the inhabitants of Sarare
were documented to analyze the impact of territorial conflicts on their farmer identity.
In conclusion, the villages where the TECAM were declared are representative for
the peasantry because they were the epicenter of colonization, agrarian reform plan,
extractivism and farmer organization, all processes that define them as colonists,
laborers and farmers from Sarare.
