Resumo
This dissertation aims to analyze the perspectives of psychologists who work in Goiânia – Goiás, on the crossings of racial themes from their training to practice. To this end, the methodological paths are initially outlined through exploratory bibliographic research, identifying and analyzing the available scientific literature on the subject, supporting the qualitative-quantitative stage of the construction of an online questionnaire, which was made available to professionals working in Goiânia. Answered anonymously, the objective and subjective questions invited the participants to reflect and answer the questions that were later categorized and analyzed based on Content Analysis according to Bardin (2011). The final sample was of 33 respondents who practice the profession in Goiânia, 28 exclusively in the city, and 5 who also practice in neighboring municipalities. The analysis resulted in four main thematic categories: (1) "Curriculum in Crisis: The Insufficiency of Academic Training", (2) "Black Voices in Academic Space: Advances and Challenges in Discussions on Racism in Psychology", (3) "Awareness Social: The Role of Psychology in the Fight Against the Multiple Expressions of Racism" and (4) "Inclusive Practices: Psychology in the Valuing of Racial Experiences". In this way, it was possible to identify that, although there is a growing interest in racial themes in Psychology, academic training still presents gaps and challenges that interfere with the performance of professionals. I was also anchored in the Frankfurt Critical Theory, in Latin American decolonial studies and in black intellectuals, who bring in their studies the issues of race and ethnicity, especially with regard to Psychology and Formative, to compose the theoretical framework of this research. The results show the need for a greater discussion on plural themes of race and racism in undergraduate courses, aiming to prepare psychologists who are more qualified to deal with diversity and inclusion.
