Programa de Formação em ATER para Assentamentos de Reforma Agrária e Contribuições para a Agenda 2030 PROFOREXT: impactos na formação profissional de agentes de assistência técnica e extensão rural para assentamentos de reforma agrária, em Goiás

Abstract

Technical Assistance and Rural Extension (ATER) in Brazil has gone through several moments throughout its history, moving from a diffusionist model to a participatory approach in the search to strengthen family farming and promote sustainable development. In Goiás, this path reflects the challenges related to the professional training of ATER agents trained to work in agrarian reform settlement communities. This research analyzes the impacts of the Programa de Formação em ATER para Assentamentos de Reforma Agrária e Contribuições para a Agenda 2030 – PROFOREXT, on the professional training of ATER agents for agrarian reform settlements in Goiás. The methodology adopted is qualitative and focuses on analyzing the content and experiences of the program's participants. The results of this work suggest that PROFOREXT promotes significant advances in the theoretical and practical training of participants, contributes to strengthening participatory ATER and values family farming in the state of Goiás. This work also highlights the institutional limitations and offers proposals for improving the program in order to broaden its reach, consolidate effective participatory ATER practices and strengthen the construction of public policies aimed at family farming and agrarian reform settlement communities.
