Divinação e medicina no Ifá: saberes e práticas tradicionais do povo Iorubá

Abstract

This thesis starts from an experimentation on how I experience Ifá with others in the articulation between practices and knowledge. To do this, it revisits some fundamental assumptions of Ifá as it is practiced by the Yoruba people of Nigeria and by practitioners of the Brazilian diaspora. The assumptions are what underpin the so-called traditional knowledge and practices. They are not traditional because they are intact; they are traditional because they come from a Tradition, that of the Yoruba people and their spiritual descendants in Brazil and the Americas. It examines in detail the knowledge and practices related to divination and medicine with Ifá. In the first part of the thesis, the conceptual bases of what Ifá is are presented, we would say its wisdom, and then in the second part, wisdom (knowledge) and practices are articulated based on the narratives (itan/ èsè) of Ifá. Finally, the thesis strives to situate the knowledge and practices of Ifá in the world today. This thesis proposes a reflection on the relevance of the knowledge and practices of Ifá in the world, considering its insertion in different contexts such as 21st century Brazil.Cette thèse part d'une expérimentation, sur la manière dont j'expérimente l'Ifá avec les autres dans l'articulation entre pratiques et savoirs. Pour ce faire, elle revisite certains postulats fondamentaux de l'Ifá tel qu'il est pratiqué par le peuple yoruba du Nigéria et par les pratiquants de la diaspora brésilienne. Les postulats sont ce qui fonde les savoirs et les pratiques dites traditionnelles. Ils ne sont pas traditionnels parce qu'ils sont intacts, ils sont traditionnels parce qu'ils proviennent d'une Tradition, celle du peuple yoruba et de ses descendants spirituels au Brésil et en Amérique. Elle examine ponctuellement les savoirs et les pratiques liés à la divination et à la médecine avec Ifá. Dans la première partie de la thèse, on présente les bases conceptuelles concernant ce qu'est l'Ifá, disons son savoir, puis dans la deuxième partie, on articule savoir (savoirs) et pratiques à partir des récits (itan/ èsè) de Ifá. Enfin, la thèse s'efforce de situer les savoirs et les pratiques de l'Ifá dans le monde d'aujourd'hui. Cette thèse propose une réflexion sur l'actualité des savoirs et des pratiques de l'Ifá dans le monde, en tenant compte de son insertion dans des contextes différents tels que le Brésil du XXIe siècle.Àwọn ìkọ̀kọ̀ yìí dà lórí iṣẹ́ ìdánilójú, nípa bí mo ṣe ń lérò Ifá pẹ̀lú àwọn mìíràn ní àtúnṣe àárín àwọn ìṣèdíwó àti ìmọ̀.
