Resumo

Paleoart comprises visual techniques based on paleontological inferences, as well as interdisciplinary, geological and biological aspects. In this context, the present Dissertation aims to visually describe creatures known from their fossil remains, reconstructing their shape, anatomical proportions, paleobiology and paleogeology in the most reliable way possible. Its relevance in transmitting scientific knowledge to the non-specialized public stands out, using visual tools such as painting, sculpture and 3D modeling. Thus, the objective of this contribution is to present the development of a didactic-scientific paleoartistic work based on the pterosaurs Rhamphorhynchus longicaudus Munster 1839, Pteranodon longiceps Marsh 1876, Anhanguera pescator Kellner and Tomida 2000, Pterodaustro guinazui Bonaparte 1970, and Caiuajara dobruskii Manzig et al., 2014. The selection criteria for these materials involved the optimal state of three-dimensional preservation of the fossils, as well as their large quantity of records. The methodology used here consists of: bibliographical survey; preparation of the paleoartistic description using Adobe Photoshop CC 2020 and Adobe Illustrator 2020 software and; programming the paleozoology.com.br blog using the Wordpress tool to post the informative text and pterosaur paleoart mentioned above. The sketches, illustrations and models were created with the help of a Wacom Intuos Pro graphics tablet. Furthermore, the blog was implemented at the Laboratory of Paleontology and Evolution/UFG). The impressions, records of users who accessed the virtual address and CTR were obtained one year after the publication of the aforementioned blog. The analyzes were carried out using the GoogleAnalytics plugin and, as raised in the initial hypothesis, the blog acts as a good scientific dissemination tool, mainly because it is free and free from the scrutiny of large media. In this way, paleozoology.com.br allows anyone to create it and disagree on any issues they deem pertinent, as well as making paleontology accessible as part of a social culture.
