Resumo
This work results from research developed between 2023 and 2025, within the research line Aesthetics and Poetics of the Performing Arts of the Graduate Program in Performing Arts (PPGAC) at the School of Music and Performing Arts (EMAC) of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). It is linked to the following laboratories: the Laboratory of Scenic Assemblages and Theatre Education (LabMonTe/EMAC/UFG), the Laboratory of Costume Creation, Clothing Collection, and Sewing Studio (LabCriaa/EMAC/UFG), and the Interdisciplinary Laboratory for Research in Performing Arts (Lapiac), affiliated with EMAC and the School of Physical Education and Dance (FEFD/UFG). Under the title Drag: Dressed to imitate a girl? – between an autoethnographic study and the production of a multimedia album, this research aimed to tension aspects of drag un.making and its subjective and objective processes. Its guiding question was the reflection that “the un-dragged performer does not say what the dragged performer says.” The general objective of the study was to investigate, understand, and express—through creative-critical means—the contemporary social constructions of body and gender through drag art, articulated with the principles of countersexuality, drawing on Paul Preciado. This was achieved through the creation of a multimedia album composed of an original song and its corresponding music video, proposing an aesthetic and political reflection on the possibilities of dissident re.existences and performativities. Autobiography and autoethnography served as methodological perspectives, presenting an account of the starting point of the artistic creation. The practical component of the research was supported by the Paulo Gustavo Law of Professor Jamil, resulting in a music video accompanied by an autoethnographic writing of the production, filming, and editing process.
