Resumo
The present work seeks to investigate the public calls for dance projects from 2013 to 2023 of the Fundo de Arte e Cultura (FAC) of the State of Goiás with the objective of understanding how dance has been addressed by state-level cultural public policies. For this research, the methodology chosen was a quali-quantitative approach, combined with documentary and bibliographic research, based on the understanding that a single approach would not be sufficient to address the specificities of the object of study (Gamboa, 2013). The study also includes data analysis, which was obtained from public documents available online on official pages of the State Secretariat of Culture (SECULT) and from materials provided by the Secretariat itself. Among the authors who support this research are the researcher of cultural policies for dance Marila Vellozo (2022), along with her co-authored work with Rafael Guarato (2015). Scholars of cultural policies such as Alexandre Barbalho (2007), Antonio Rubim (2007), Lia Calabre (2007;2019) and Isaura Botelho (2001) are also referenced. The study provides a historical contextualization of cultural policies in Brazil, addresses the emergence of the Goiás Art and Culture Fund in relation to the State Secretariat of Culture of Goiás, and analyzes the instabilities faced by this mechanism over the years. Furthermore, through documentary research, the study measured the number of approved applicants, the recurrence of these approvals, and the amounts invested in these calls. For the interpretation of these data, the study uses as an analytical lens the concept of epistemic community, as approached by Peter Haas (1992).
