Resumo

The Brazilian population has aged considerably over the years, resulting in a change in the country’s age structure, a factor that requires new challenges and a different panorama to be faced. This reality requires greater concern for the elderly population, such as a greater need to understand how the elderly relate to their surroundings and their social needs, as well as a greater demand for facilities for this public. The vulnerability of physical and mental health, social isolation and often even marginalization of this public are some of the issues that can arise in this period of life. In this way, the purpose of this work is to create an integrated center for psychological care and arts teaching for the elderly, in which a place of care and coexistence is developed for this public, as well as to understand how architecture can be a significant and necessary agent for improving the quality of life of the individuals who inhabit it.
