Academic museums have the function of safeguarding and valuing the institutional trajectory, since pedagogical objects, when replaced or deactivated, run the risk of falling into oblivion. In the practical activity laboratories of Nursing courses, the objects are essential for the development of the skills necessary for nurses, and include equipment, mannequins, furniture, metal and glass materials, reflecting the evolution of teaching and consolidating formative practices that have marked generations of students and teachers. In addition to being teaching instruments, they are a testament to the pedagogical, scientific and technological trajectory of the schools. Objective: To propose guidelines for the musealization and safeguarding of the existing collection in the practical teaching activity spaces (realistic simulation laboratories) of the Nursing Faculty of the Federal University of Goiás (FEN/UFG). Methodology: documentary research, gathering and cataloging of the FEN/UFG collection were carried out, followed by an interpretive exhibition and the proposition of preventive conservation and musealization strategies. The collection information was recorded on a form called "Inventory of the Florence Wing Collection – FEN/UFG," containing details and photographs of the objects. The visit to the exhibition was guided by the collection's curator, who answered questions and narrated the history of the objects. Visitors were invited to answer a questionnaire to assess their understanding, interest, and perception of the historical and pedagogical value of the exhibition. Results: 110 objects were inventoried, including instruments used daily in nursing practice, acquired from 1975 onwards. Many were not located due to the institutional policy of discarding disused objects. The exhibition was visited over 15 days by 179 students from various schools, faculty, and technical-administrative staff. They positively evaluated the activity and mentioned the importance of knowing and identifying the changes that reflect the history of nursing professionals. Guidelines for the musealization and safeguarding of objects used in the environments intended for practical activities at FEN/UFG were presented. The process of creating a museum collection revealed significant challenges, such as the absence of institutional policies focused on preservation, the lack of adequate infrastructure, and the scarcity of systematized records. Conclusions: The research allowed us to understand that the collection represents an important testimony to the trajectory of FEN/UFG, and its contribution to the training of nurses in the Brazilian Midwest region. The experience involved the recognition of meanings, affections, and senses of belonging, thus being an act of care – for the objects, for the people, and for the collective memory.
